I genuinely have no horse in this fight, since my fave Pokrmon is Salamence, but I'm gonna have to give it to the Incinefags here:
1) The fanart in this thread people are claiming is "off-model" really, genuinely does not feel any more "off-model" than anything that makes any other pokemon look dynamic and/or badass. I still see the long arms, giant fingers, and a smarmy grin. At this rate, nothing is "on-model" but some imaginary image in the heads of anti-Incinefags from what I've seen of this endless rallying cry.
2) I can give the OP picture credit, but I also remember this was early enough in Gen 7. I've never seen them act on this modeling since. As an oldfag I've seen some pretty weird official stuff for Pokemon and singling out Incineroar does not feel fair to it, hating it or not.
3) I also remember one of the last threads someone pointed out Incineroar could probably model itself on Smilodons because they apparently shared much the same proportions, and I can't be too angry at anything that can actually model/justify itself off anything that actually existed. I ask the anti-Incinefags: are you at this rate ready to seethe over actual nature and biology? If someone showed an image of quadruped Incineroar on par with a Smilodon since both seem to be top-heavy cats, will you be willing to pretend the Smilodon is somehow wrong? Will you do the same for Decidueye and the owls it's based off of with long stilt legs or owls' facial plumage Deci's hood can resemble? If denying real-life bio inspirations is the thing, the "trannyseal" meme actuallys much more weight than I expected.
It's been years, I am honestly neutral for the cat, but it's amazing how many people really continue to be assblasted about it and can't quite admit a lot of people like it for fun or yes, they think it's cool. Credit due where credit is due, Incineroar honestly has lived up to its meme potential and more and I've never forgotten it blowing everyone out in Gen 7 time and time again.
