That's mostly true, except for in walking speed, which is around the same. To make make matters worse, DPPt has running shoes whereas in Gen 1 and 2 you're forced to use the bike.

Really only works with the knock out part of that, and even then the same thing could be accomplished by making the first 95% of the health tick down at the same rate irrespective of the health of the Pokemon (i.e. a Pokemon going from 150/150HP to 15/150 should take the same amount of time as a Pokemon going from 20/20HP to 2/20). If you want suspense then just make the last 5% tick down a bit slower but it should really only do that when the hit started in Green Health already, no point having it tick down slower when you're starting at say 6%.

Try playing BW and then playing DP on regular speed, then you'll realize what people are saying. Your team options are also very restricted since the Pokemon on most routes are largely the same and more than half of the obtainable Pokemon are locked behind the postgame. DP are by far the most tedious Pokemon games to replay and no one can convince me otherwise.

But this is 2021 Mr Anon, we have multiple speed up patches and AR codes for Gen 4 now.
There really is no need to play BDSP.
Hell with the way Gen 4 hacking is going they will add the customisable outfits and the Exp share in the not too distant future.
