>>48534807Nah, I also think it was intentional and I'm really enjoying Sword and Shield so far; to the point where it's like the last 2 years of my life in regard to Pokemon have been a complete lie. That anon is making tons of sense, so I don't think it should be called a conspiracy theory. To me, a conspiracy theory is schizo shit like
>Game Freak hates JohtoWhich makes no fucking sense whatsoever, since Game Freak made Johto and poured their hearts into making Johto games good, as they were under the impression GSC would be their finale. The Game Freak hates Johto theory ignores that essential premise behind GSC's development. With that being said, the Game Freak kneecapped BDSP theory is pretty reasonable for the aforementioned outlined reasons.
If they look good compared to the BDSP developers, they won't have to rise to newer expectations. Also, they're in a position right now where they don't have to rely on BDSP succeeding, so it's okay for it to be a sacrifice. It's actually an excellent marketing strategy. And yeah, it seems obvious that Atlus, or any other mid-big name studio would take Pokemon as a source material and use it for inspiration to go above and beyond. Cynthia and Cyrus dialogue written by Atlus set to a backing track composed by the guy that did "Take the Shield, Raise the Spear", "The Fear of God", or "An Honor Befitting That Name," "Bloody Destiny," "Let Butterflies Spread Until the Dawn," "Last Prayer," and so on, and so forth, would make 25+-year-old weebs lose their minds. No one would be able to withstand the concentrated chuuni and once it was taken away, they'd turn rabid.
