Honestly though why are the 3D Pokemon games so ugly? It's been 3 games since mainline Pokemon first jumped to 3D with X/Y and the games are still ugly as fuck and tremendously outdated in comparison to peers like BOTW and Genshin.
You could justify it somewhat with the 3DS games but this is the second fucking game on an actual console and the game is still ugly. This isn't solely in regards to the terrible graphical fidelity either, look how absolutely devoid of any artistic identity pic related is. How is such an enormous studio like Game Freak (also backed by fucking Nintendo) putting out games that look this cheap? Is there no self awareness? Why do people over 15 years old put up with it?
