I have never understood the disdain for gen 5, as though nothing good or interesting came out of it. Serperior, Chandelure's entire line, Sigilyph, Volcarona, Reuniclus, Liepard, Dewott, Musharna, Galvantula, and Audino are great. I am personally also fond of Gothitelle and Eelektross. Yeah, there's a lot of just flat out insultingly bad designs, and a lot of ridiculously overdesigned mons for that matter, but that's true of every generation, especially if you isolate each generation from all of the others.
