Why do regions starting from Gen 5 have deserts, volcanos, and snowy areas, all around each other for no reason?
Before you get cheeky and tell me to go back to a Discord I'm not even part of, Gen 5 was the last good generation of Pokemon, even if it did start some of the things I dislike about nuPokemon.

It's based on an actual location. Makawo, Maui, a paniolo (Hawaiian cowboy) town. It's even in relatively the same location in game.

Oh yeah. Kiawe being the son of a rancher and living in this town is also likely due to his name. The tree he's named after has seeds that can be ground into cattle feed. That's on top of fire theming like the tree surviving in dry conditions and being known for making good firewood.

Idk, but everytime I think of this area I get sad. Especially in ultra s/m, since they had a second chance to make it an actual location, and still didn't.

When I first got here and couldn't go in the buildings I actually felt sad.
