Replaying Sun recently to pass the time, and it really does baffle me how they could follow up this gen with Sword and Shield. The routes aren't as fleshed out as "retro" generations, but there's still optional areas to explore on each path. The story and characters are just better as well, they aren't deep character studies but they serve their roles and don't feel like they're half baked. Really hope that the story about how they half developed the SwSh games for the 3DS before making the jump to Switch is true cause I'm really feeling the quality difference in the 7th and 8th gens here. Legends of Arceus really does have a low bar to clear.
