The ironic thing is that all they had to do to make the Darkest Day believable was tie it into the Kalos war which also occured 3,000 years ago and then say the distortions caused by it are what caused the Ultra Beasts to cross over in Gen 7 and that Eternatus is actually an Ultra Beast.
But of course, that would give their shitty regional gimmick some sort of reason to exist beyond Galar and we can't be having that, now can we?
If Galar and Alola just didn't fuck up the map design and gameplay and stopped trying to make their own gimmicks then they wouldn't be as bad.
