Stealth Rock, like any other entry hazards, helps keeps Singles from being completely cancerous stall by punishing switches.
It shouldn't have been a type that has a thousand double weaknesses though.

It's necessary to knock Flying types off their high horse, since they'd be completely immune to all other hazards. It just needs to be reworked so that Bug/Fire/Ice types aren't completely thrown under the bus.

Isn't switching already kind of sucky, you gotta tank a move, if the opponent predicts a switch you'll probably be in a bad state even without entry hazards.
Personally I just think they shouldnt stack, no stealth rock plus spikes and shit.
