Fairy resists Bug because Game Freak doesn’t want to do Pokémon anymore so they are actively trying to destroy themselves by fucking up the balance of the game by making Fairy coco okey broken and shitting on Bug types even though this franchise would literally not exist if not for bug-fighting.

Bugs use poisons to attack/defend themselves, but not all bugs are venomous/poisonous. That’s why fairies are weak to toxic substances but not bugs.

but seriously i think that adding bug type to game is caused by the fact that original creator of pokemon loved to collect bugs and fight them, which inspired him to make this game, and also evolution is inspired by process of bugs changing when growing up, you know from larva to coocoon to imago

idk, in some stories don’t fairies ride bugs? I think bug similarly has that “hero” connotation to it, so it might actually just be the same reason as fighting
