Infinite TMs are objectively better than finite ones. (Having TRs alongside infinite TMs also works)

I'm fine with the TR compromise.
Limited TMs sucked, especially since they weren't even a large majority of moves. TRs are pretty much every move and are way cheaper than TMs.

In PMD it was a non-issue because there was an infinite supply of every TM.
The main issue was TMs in the main game that you only got one of and could never ever obtain new copies of.

Oh boy it sure hard just using Nidoking, Feraligatr, Blaziken/Swampert, and Infernape to handle every single challenge that comes your way in Gen 1-4. Very difficult, incredibly hard games.

The difference is that infinite TMs are an entirely optional feature.
If you think they make the games too easy, don't use them.

However I do think that Game Freak should've increased the actual difficulty to compensate.
