His site works on reporting what pokemon does, not on it being good, if he stuck to that he can still get revenue. If he kept his mouth shut about the dexcut other than literal reporting he wouldn't have been criticized so much. He could have had his cake and eat it and was so far his own ass he didn't realize it.
Also, games being bad now doesn't mean they'll never be good again technically so there's also that.
