Objectively Gen 1 is the peak of the series in terms of sales, gameplay, replayability value, relevancy. Overall imho, the GB/GBC era games are all the peak of the series and the games kept going downhill when they moved to the newer console. But if you, as the frogposter said, have the Kanto Derangement Syndrome like all the Generation Z crowd, you'll never accept this fact.
