The color-coded names from Adventure sure do sound cool. It's nice to simply name a character after the title they're supposed to represent, but it's also a little silly because you don't know if it's a theme that the characters would be aware of, or if the motif simply doesn't exist in-universe. Worth noting is that they don't name anyone after GSC after colors or titles anymore, outside of making small puns with the SM player characters. With that being said, I have no idea why Silver kept his name in HGSS. Maybe they felt like he was too iconic. Maybe they felt like it didn't matter. I could certainly see him leaving a more lasting impression than Blue. Blue's pretty iconic but Silver actually puts his hands on you.
