i really can't understand why gamefreak refuses so much to make an actually good pokemon game, i lost total hope in the company when this "faithful" remake of diamond wont have battle factory and the permanent exp share. guess the series really died long time ago

GameFreak aren’t the ones making it though, it’s a different studio, which is what so many people have been telling GameFreak to do. And they’ve worked on plenty of games before.

Okay, I'll bite.
The only shit games in the series after Gen 5 are XY, ORAS, LGPE, and Legends.
Everything else is a straight improvement.

Well, probably because they don't have to. Even being optimistic about their intentions, they're overworked and most likely exhausted working on this franchise for this long, but have to keep pushing out shit for TPCi for merchandise, which makes them the majority of their money.
In fact, I couldn't argue in good faith otherwise, seeing as how they had to hand over BDSP to another company entirely since they couldn't possibly fuck up an already complete game, while GF themselves work on gen 9 and Legends. Simply put, how can one say they *aren't* overworked?
All we can expect from games going forward is QoL improvements until the game is essentially Showdown and nothing else.

Junichi Masuda is the director of BDSP, so GF still calls the shots on what is and isn't in the game. ILCA is just the illustrator, nothing more.

The remakes look fine to me, my desires were "for the love of god make it not run at 15 FPS on original hardware" and they managed it. Everything Op listed I either don't care about or welcome with open arms.

It's even worse. They're cutting the national dex again parroting "muh faithful remakes", when in reality it's a corporate move to force people to buy the next game. You will never get your bromons, you will never catch em all in any future games, only way to get any sense of accomplishment on that sense will be to pay the pokemon prison subscription. Also we'll see old gimmicks, they will die with their debut games.

Don't fall for shills saying that the games are still good. Having the bare minimum of features to be a pokemon game isn't enough. They need to bring back beloves features as well as add good new ones. They have some nice concepts like raids but they are implemented shittly and you know they won't be refined for gen 9 because game freak never keeps anything

They don't "refuse". TPC gives them unreasonable deadlines. Their games after Gen 1 were packed full of content and polish when they went by their own timelines.

They're working smarter, not harder. They know they've got over ten million fools that'll buy up anything they push out, so why try harder when there's no incentive to do so? It's like being at work and phoning in all your work because at the end of the day, you're still getting paid the same as if you busted your ass.
You might not "buy it anyways" but someone who has literally only played pokemon and nothing else their entire life sure will.
