Is there an actual reason why you would that to be a thing in gen 9? Its more likely that they will include a button that revives all your pokemon once per battle.

Really? I'd argue the child suggesting the games will suddenly adopt a death mechanic to be the simpletons, given they have however many years' experience with Pokémon and still can't understand its developed specifically to be kid-friendly and uncontroversial a possible.

Pokemon got quite a bit of flack for its violence when it was at its height. If I'm being generous he's probably just trying to deflect from that but his thing about fainting sounds like he wants to have his cake and eat it

More like "your party gets a free full heal after every encounter", do you expect kids to remember they have that as a feature?
You can still redundantly call up the portable center to heal you anyway just to be safe, of course, even though there's no such thing as a situation on the overworld where your Pokemon won't be fully healed anymore.
