Looks like some shit from Balan Wonderland or another shitty fantasy mobile game. Pokemon games always had realistic flora and biomes. It mirrored the real world until this abomination.

Ok, but this isnt even that fantastical. There is zero creativity in this town. This is generic Clash of Clans town. A forest with some giant fucking mushrooms isn't cool or breathtaking. It's just retarded. They could have made those giant mushrooms a pokemon or something. Maybe a regional shroomish or fungus form. This isn't exciting. This is soulless corporate design. All it did was break my immersion. Might as well just have some mountains or some shit.

People live in treehouse villages in real life. Not to mention this is a shit example because it's man made structures. People live inside/near volcanos too. Picrel. Then you look at the sheer smoothbrain design of giant glowing mushroom village. I would even go so far as to say it's the worst locale out of any mainline pokemon game. It is atrocious.

This has never been said or confirmed. Seems like something you just assumed (which, to be fair, might have been warranted if this "fairy tale" type of setting just showed up out of nowhere after all these years. Then again, fairies are relatively new as well, so...).

I skip the games I'm not interested in, so I'm not 100% certain, but Pokemon has always sort of had weird geography and biodiversity, such as out-of-nowhere-ass deserts and rhino-based monsters whose natural habitat is like an alleyway in some big city. I guess Mushroomville here is sorta like that.

BTW, it's a children's franchise.

If you've played the games or seen the anime, then you know that people in the Pokemon world live in rural towns and urban cities similar to ones in the real world.

How many years? This is one of those things that the less you try to explain it, the better, because there's just nothing about it that makes sense. The space, the materials, the manpower, how it actually functions, etc. It's the most absurd thing in the series. Even Team Plasma's airship in BW2 is easier to explain.

The absence of evidence is not evidence. Just because urban and rural towns are all you ever see doesn't mean that places like Mushroomville don't exist. It simply means that such places weren't yet shown before Mushroomville.

There tend to be more urban and rural towns in Pokemon (especially the anime) because the creators seem to be too lazy to make adequate jungles, deserts, and other biomes, though these are more likely to appear in the games (where, even then, they're limited). That is why Pokemon that are based on animals like rhinos and elephants appear in places where their real-life counterparts wouldn't thrive or would be at a disadvantage in.

Even in the real world, among all the cities and towns, you'll find really fantastical places that look like something from a fairy tale. Such places are often tourist attractions or hidden off somewhere in a remote location.

It's kind of odd that that one weird town set you off, while I'm sitting here thinking there need to be MORE.

this would've worked fine if it was a regular route with some wooden walkaways for easier navigation through a dense wild forest, but instead it's applied to a fucking city or a town, which doesn't make sense logically. It's more of just a themepark attraction for tourists with barely anything function that makes it feel like a living town.

If this was anything like real life, everything would've been demolished down for resources, or to make more room for infrastructure and buildings. Hell, it'd be even built further outside of the forest to not destroy the environment.
