Though now that you bring up the pose, I think that's actually a large problem I have with her original design, as her World Tournament sprite looks great in my opinion. There's just something about those Gen 3 sprites that I can't quite put my finger on that bothers me though.
That's not to say I think her original design is bad or anything though, I still like it. I just think her newer one has more personality to it. The exaggerated flourish of her skirt really adds to her silhouette too.
