The defenders of Kalos have no real justification for anything.
Zygarde's form data was already scrubbed in XY and the moves were completely functional-- same deal with Eternal Floette. Unused content should always be ironed out and when it's so significant in the way that XY had it that means the game needs to be polished until it is all utilized.
The whole deal with the roaming legendary Kanto birds in the postgame is pacebreaking and has very little unique assets to it. Maybe that's fine if you're used to how poorly they're done in Gen 7 and 8 but Gen 6 overall had a higher standard for things like that not only set before it but in the game itself like with Zygarde.
Kalos in general is clearly built to be played on in the same way that Kinova was, which makes sense since it's the gen that directly came after and had a lot of the inspiration coming from it; seasons are in XY but highly underutilized coming from their appearance last gen. Deerling should have changed forms depending on the area of Kalos you were in to better exemplify that fact.
