>>48629850>Well what it actually shows is that people other than me think gamefreak makes bizarre choices with their Pokemon designs, assuming they really do want people to see them as pets. It's not bizarre just beacuse you just can't wrap your head around that it's fantasy. Ever since Gen I Oak told us Pokemon may be kept as pets and they had designs like Machamp and Mr. Mime. GameFreak has never cared about things like that, all those are in the same context as Rattata and Pidgey. As I mentioned earlier Pokemon does NOT have those division like in other franchises.
On top of that they keep making those designs, obviously if they're as weird as you think they are they would stop, but they don't. In this gen they even had you interact with your Pokemon by playing fetch like it's a dog and even getting it's attention with a replica of a cat toy, and they even swipe at it like a real cat. New Pokemon Snap was also released and gave almost every Pokemon an animalistic cry, even something like Gardevoir got an animalistic cry, and the whole game was a fantasy safari tour.
Ignoring context doesn't make it any less true. People to this day keep comparing Pokemon to dog fighting, and, God forbid, slavery when the context of the franchise makes it clear that's not the case. So, as I said earlier, if GameFreak doesn't give two shits about your mewling over apperance, and most people probably don't either, than I see no reason why anyone should entertain your special pleading. They will continue to show the ones you have in mind being treated like dogs, eating dog food and living like wild animals, they won't make them be like civilized races like elves and the like, they'll always be more akin the wild life and your pet dog. As I said earlier, if it's a beast in context than it is a beast, a fantasy beast, but one nevertheless. They're not aliens, elves, whatever. They're fantastical beasts that doubles as your pet.
