start with firered or leafgreen which are slightly better and less broken versions of the originals
pokemon xy arent that good but theyre pretty easy basic experiences
sun/moon or ultrasun/ultramoon which are the better versions are pretty different, so its best to play them first or last and it doesnt really matter but its surprisingly good for beginners
lets go pikachu/lets go pikachu and like reimaginings of the original pokemon games with some small parallels to the anime and in general are pretty casual and good for beginners, theyre kinda different as they use some features from pokemon go which youve definitely heard of and should probably check out since its free and in mobile
and those are probably some of the best ones to start with but really you can start with any of them and it wont really matter
fyi make sure to play black/white first before you play black2/white2 and make sure to play the same color in the originals and sequels
