You can add detail and effort without text that drags the battle on. For instance, special animations where the Pokemon acts hurt when at low HP or has a determined expression during a critical hit. But we all know GameFreak hates animations except for a select few shillmons.

I can't believe that, in 2021, End of Turn damage isn't show simultaneously. Recoil should happen when you land a hit with recoil as well.
