Gen VII may not have been peak Pokémon, but artwork like this - and the distinct lack of anything like it for any of the Switch games - makes me feel like it was the last generation where Game Freak gave any degree of a shit. Pokémon may have peaked a few gens earlier - and I'm surely plenty of people disagree as to exactly when that was - but it truly died when it made the jump to the Switch. I know everyone likes to make ULTRA CHANGES OMEGALUL jokes, but the Gen VII reveal season was actually pretty hype.
