No idea how the patch could possibly be 3.5 gigs. I'm certain most of it is music, but surely there isn't that much?

all the music has been leaked from the game, the only themes which seem to be missing are remastered battle themes, (excluding the wild battle theme)

as for your second point, the longest audio file in the game is a 9 minute track that no one knows what it is...
and its only 20mb so, i have ZERO idea what the hell the patch has in it

Day 1 patch is just going to be the intro movie, the finished remixed OST (Unless the OST we currently have is what they are shipping out then good god this is the gift that keeps on giving), and a few bug fixes.
