It's a real shame. When I saw that second trailer that sowed they were gonna improve contests and the underground, I thought, "You know, it looks like their hearts are in the right place. Game Freak would have just cut those things, but these guys are putting in some effort. Maybe this'll be just what the franchise needs, even if it does look ugly." But if this is the end result, maybe this is really it for the series in my eyes. I skipped Sword and Shield but had hope that Pokemon could turn it around. And right now I just don't see it ever happening. I'm done.
