Schizo theory but I’m convince the absolute state BDSP is in was just a ploy by GameFreak to intentionally outsource the game to an inexperienced literal who company to shut down anyone who suggests them to actually outsource their shit ever again.
Like if they were smart, they could’ve outsourced it to a studio that actually has experience with RPGs, I mean it shouldn’t be that hard, multi-million dollar corporation after all.

It was for people who are obsessed with wanting a remake to be 1-1 with the original and do not give a fuck about quality. There are many people who say they will play Pokemon no matter what. Either way, it would have been shit, but at least Gamefreak can focus a little more on PLA which is more ambitious.

Imagine Pokemon made by Level-5, Monolith, Atlus, Capcom...whatever, its straight up impossible for any half decent dev to do WORSE than GF because GF is THE worst developer out there in relation to the size of the IP they work with. And if said game was better than the slop GF produces, GF would quite literally never hear the end of it.

So when GF wants to outsource, what do they do? They hire a studio that's literally never made their own game before, because that is the one and only way they won't be outdone.
