So just like red and blue where they removed a few Pokémon in each file and then loaded that onto different carts? Only now this is cheap unity shit and Gamefreak in their glorious incompetence didn’t bother to put anything in to stop you from changing a 1 to a 2 to swap the title and mons. Don’t really see the issue there wasn’t any big differences really until generation 3 since that atleast had different world ending scenarios based on the version and battles. Not buying this shit so I don’t really care might emulate it if I run out of other stuff to play but legends is out in two months so I’ll probably just wait for that and then bitch about how inevitably awful it is like every Pokémon game has been since gen 6

I know you can do it with CFW but I’m saying on a non hacked switch cause if you have a hacked switch why would you buy this game anyway unless you really miss gen 4 steal rocks Meta. Doesn’t surprise me that gamefreak is that lazy atleast before they’d go through the effort of making two different Roms even if they were basically rom hack level differences. The kind of person that still buys Pokémon though wouldn’t know how to CFW a switch so that’s why I gave the game shark example

Pretty smart honestly makes idiots think the game is better cause file size is better and makes it even easier for them to make both versions.

That said if you're in a position to run "a simple gameshark code" on the Switch, you're in the right position to pirate the games anyway.

Anybody that wants to play this with Pokémon Home connectivity has to play it legit anyway.
