Back when I was younger me and a friend would talk about how we wanted a Smash game but specifically with Pokemon. Naturally we wanted each and every pokemon to be playable but of course that’s unrealistic. That being said a lot of them would translate pretty well if Pokemon Trainer is anything to go by.

Gimmick is that you can, once per stock, Evolve based on your last-used move, altering various properties but having only one fully functionally unique move per Eeveelution. Partly for development, partly for skill floor.

Gimmick is Shield Forme giving Block on various moves and accelerated Block recovery, while Sword Forme is *all* the offense to degrees wildly departing from normal game balance.

Gimmick is starting with a Ratatta and an Ekans, with knocking out a stock getting you a Dratini (because Game Corner). Each has a separate XP bar governing move strength and evolutions, and a lost stock resets that 'mon, requiring taking a new stock from the enemy for a new Dratini. Also, if you get your Dratini fully evolved, you get an *admin* outfit!
