This doesn't happen though, and you don't have affection, new items, forced exp share, and a ton of free mythical and legendaries

Is still easy, it only brings the game up to Emerald and Platinum, barely. Challenge mode is nothing until the E4 where you start to actually notice something, but you can still overlevel quite easily.

Yes it does. When I did the Platinum post-game rematches it was boring as shit because I was just effortlessly sweeping everything with my lv80 Garchomp and Infernape while the NPCs were still using only low to mid 60s.

You'll do the same thing in BDSP, except you'll praise the difficulty. Anyone who knows how to play will do the same. This is why just some rematches are awful postgame
