ORAS could lean on new pokemon and character designs to enjoy, a fully stocked dex, and a healthy online trading/battling scene. BDSP having none of those things is the biggest issue, they’re the bare minimum to keep Pokemon fresh within the somewhat stale formula

BDSP might be bad, but until I've played it myself I cannot say for sure. But don't pretend ORAS was good.
Every time a new game comes out, the same "wasn't previous shitty game actually good in comparison guys?" threads get started ad nauseam.

Nothing has surpassed HGSS.
