This is one of the most baffling choice they made with these remakes. They acknowledged they fucked up with the pokemon variety but instead of using the solution they already came up with they instead had to do this obtuse, gimmicky crap. I legitimately can't understand it, this game has made so many other QoL improvements but is held back by their absolute aversion too anything platinum did.
