>>48691589OP is a disingenuous retard but there IS an objective criticism against the split. The Phys-Spec change was a lateral change rather than a direct improvement. It makes more since lorewise for the most part (punches should be physical), and added more diversity to the game by allowing more attacks to exist in the first place (such as now there are physical water moves and specials water moves), and allowed some Pokemon to use their STAB better. However, it fucked over just as many pokemon as it saved and most Pokemon didn’t get significantly better or worse. Before, both Atk and SpA were important for Pokemon that wanted to have certain coverage types (Ground Coverage required high Attack, Ice Coverage required high Special Attack, etc). Now, there is literally no reason for Pokemon to have two attacking stats because only the higher one matters. This makes Pokemon with balanced attacking stats worthless unless they have 600+ BST or a broken ability and even then, that Pokemon would be made obsolete if it got a regional form with lopsided offensive stats.
I'd argue that coverage creep is even worse, with Gen 1 Pokemon reaping nearly all the benefits while Pokemon like Typhlosion literally have less moves than Charizard has forms.
Arguably it would be better if the split was still there but not universal.
>Have certain moves use both attacking stats in the calculation>Have Physical-Special spit only apply to moves a Pokemon primary STAB,>Make it so that Iron Fist makes punching moves come off the user's higher attacking stat along with its other effectsThe physical-special split could have been the best thing in the series, but Game Freak being Game Freak implemented in an objectively stupid way.
>48691589The problem isn't the EXP Share, the problem is that its forced on
players.it would be like if the Game automatically gave you a free revive every time one of your Pokemon fainted.
