More updated rules of the Underground
https://www.reddit.com/r/PokeLeaks/comments/qs823j/regular_underground_encounter_preliminary/Just want to make clear that it is possible that this is NOT all of the data. There's data for Areas 02-12, then 20. It looks like there's missing data for Areas 01 and 13-19, but it's possible that might not exist.
A quick rundown of the data:
- There are checks for progress, so some pokemon won't start appearing until you reach certain points. There's 6: The beginning, when you get Strength (or around that time), when you get Surf, when you get a certain badge (I'm thinking 6th), when you get Rock Climb, and when you get the National Dex.
- There are level thresholds. As in when you get a certain number of badges, the levels will scale.
Start - Lvl 16 - 20
2nd Badge - Lvl 25 - 29
3rd Badge - Lvl 29 - 33
4th Badge - Lvl 33 - 37
5th Badge - Lvl 36 - 40
6th Badge - Lvl 39 - 43
7th Badge - Lvl 42 - 46
8th Badge - Lvl 50 - 55
Champion/Nat Dex (Not sure) - Lvl 58 - 63
- For the main game, it seems that based on the progress checks, pokemon appear in the underground around the same time you'd be able to get them above ground. So no early Gible for you, unfortunately. Gible is only available after the 4th check, which is around the 6th gym or so.
The only exceptions I can see are Skorupi and Croagunk appearing early-ish and Purugly (for some reason) appearing earlier than Glameow.
- For the main game, about half of the Sinnoh dex pokemon are in the underground. It looks like the exceptions are Abra, Azurill, Bonsly, Burmy, Carnivine, Happiny, Chatot, Cleffa, Cranidos, Drifloon, Feebas, Finneon, Goldeen, Heracross, Magikarp, Pichu, Remoraid, Riolu, Shieldon, Spiritomb, and Starly.
- For the post-game, every single starter is available in the underground. Yes, even all 3 Sinnoh starters.
