Natures literally don't matter in casual gameplays at all and competitive players just use Pokegen, so this is a non-issue

Well with newer games it is an issue for people who want to not only play comp but build their teams from the ground up too. And now it's not impossible. But back in gens 3-5 you are correct. But it was still fun to at least try and find the right nature/ability just to make your team that much better. But I can admit that's not for everyone. But considering they programmed in the Masuda method and made collecting a full Dex somewhat difficult too I think they intended people to grind for the ideal mons just like you'd have to irl

The QOL improvements like this are my favorite addition to the series. In Sun it was really nice to be able to actually use my ingame team for the battle tree instead of breeding new mons. Just wish we had a Battle frontier or even a good post game battle facility to go along with it
