There's no other stretch in the game where as many things happen, hell the most you get from the rest of the game is usually a Team Flare encounter, maybe a rival battle against Serena/Calem and a short conversation from either Shauna, Trevor or Prof. Sycamore. From memory the Parfum Palace subplot is one of the only ones in the entire game and the static encounter Snorlax is the only static encounter until you face the Box Legendary.
