Powder is about 1 level worth, Root is about 2 levels and Revival Herb is about 3. Pokemon has to be injured to be able to use herbs on them unlike happiness increasing berries though. Affection buffs start at a score of 200 and base affection is usually 50. This chart shows the actual numbers of gain/loss.

Revival Herbs are a bit more expensive than regular Revives, but of course they're Max Revives instead so it evens out a bit.
