The sandstone tiles look wierd carved into regular rock. Everything else looks fine imo although I would try to make the center water body more oasis like.
Also isn't there /rheg/ for this?

Not much to work with but I think it looks nice enough, plus you can access them with dive which adds a nice bit of depth

If it's random encounters all over like a FRLG cave, then it's bad, as it would require every Max Repel KNOWN TO MAN in order to traverse without getting an aneurysm.
If it's still RNG-tilebased, but there are patches of wild tiles like grass patches, then it's pretty damn solid.
If it's overworld encounters like in legpee, where you can dodge the pokeniggers, then this is phenomenal design.

Trainers on the south part feel a bit artificially placed but definetly on the right track (If what youre going for is big routes, and not like, the same design principles as the official ones)

Looks great honestly, tho I agree with anons saying the sandstone tiles should blend better with the stone. Maybe actually alter the colour of the stone tiles to be closer to the colour of sandstone I think that would go a long way to make it look more unique.

Originally I had the player surf to get to the other side of city but people hated that so I changed it. Plus, you can't cross the desert until you get the go-go googles which you don't get until you beat Flannery anyway there's no need for an additional road block. Plus the levels of the trainers and wild pokemon is 40-55 in the desert so even after getting the 4th badge, good luck. It's more of a late game area that you can access mid game if you're a brave soul.

I wanted to give the feeling of some of the rocky areas being buried ruins as well. There is a large ruins dungeon I'm currently working on but I wanted to give the overworld a "big ruinious long lost area" vibe to it as well as it being a desert. Pic related

I feel like you should try and put less roadblocks in the areas, make them less clunky to traverse, you need to strike a balance between not being cluttered and not being empty, it can be hard

my 2 cents:
The entry at the bottom with the grassy fences and flowers etc. looks really out of place, just make it all sand or use a different barrier if you can't.

Mechanically, cities are supposed to be safe havens free of wild encounters, save for fishing and surfing. You couke have more urbanised routes just outside the cities with those encounters though.

I'm with you, I think a little grass is cool. You could catch water pokemon etc. in many cities in many games. Your grassy spots out of the way and look cozy.
