>>48721330It's not a development. Home compatibility was explicitly stated to be "coming 2022" in the reveal. What's a development is that based on the early copies people have been dissecting is that "compatibility" is exit only. Like LGPE. Meaning you won't (supposedly) be able to send Pokemon from Home to BDSP.
I'm still getting the games because I do want to have battles with a new meta. No more air balloon, weakness policy, safety goggles, assault Vest, etc etc held items from gen 5+, no move tutor moves like Flip Turn and those from the dlc, basically it's gonna be gen 4 all over again with Hidden Abilities (which WILL be pretty relevant in some cases but not meta warping).
For the purposes of THIS thread however, BDSP will not have multi battles at launch as the union rooms will only support two players at a time. They've pledged to updating the game to be able to accommodate more than 2 people per room in the future. I don't think that serves much of a purpose at all if they're NOT adding multibattles, since literally no other online interaction require more than two people, but their stupidity knows no bounds so who knows.
For the purposes of VGC Pokemon themselves are still supporting SwSh as the official game and format.
A thought that has crossed my mind is that original gen 4 didn't have team previews. Of all the """"""""QoL"""""""" features people talk about I think that's one that's likely to get in. BUT if it's truly "faithful" then multi battles could be kinda scuffed with no team preview LMAO.
