Had an idea for a mythology based Pokémon. It's a small floating glowing orb called Willowis (will o' the wisp) that dwells in marshes. it can evolve into lanternal (lantern man), when many come together to form a physical sort of body donning a cloak and shining brightly.
Or, it has a varient that evolves into a floating firey glowing animal head based on nukekubi/sogenbi, growing in size to an actual animal head. It then evolves finally into a Pokémon based on maikubi where three of the previous evolutions (becoming more aggressive) merge into a single floating being with an intense fire and three heads poking out. These would be spotted near the sea and constantly turning like a UFO because the heads are turning around trying to bite and snap at each other.

They forgot all of these popular and well known animals. Come on, how can you miss the dolphin? They probably designed a dolphin at some point but scrapped it, dolphins are one of the most loved animal in the world and it is really weird to not have one after eight generations.
