Tons of other anime and video games already have 20+ differently shaped variants of “ki blast” and Gamefreak has shown to be pretty obtuse with moves. How many types of “dragon type laser beam” are we at now? We don’t even have a biting or skewering dragon move which you’d think would be par for the course.
Ultimately you can’t really make an argument against these things because GF makes moves *pretty* arbitrarily.
