I farmed a lot of money from the old couple near trophy garden and bought a lot of powders and my mons never get the buffs unless I stop using the herbs

I’m happy there’s more people appreciating the herbs this time around. Literally the only healing items I ever buy. I like to head canon that my player character is a bit sinister as he usually raises dark and ghost types and only uses herbs other trainers would avoid :)

Winning battles, walking, gaining EXP, etc all increase affection. And the only way to use revival herb is to faint your Pokémon.
