Modifying values in the code to get "correct scaling" is a lot different from the devs putting that correct scaling in from the get-go.

Except scaling can be, and has been, done correctly before in pokemon games... of course it shouldn't be done for following pokemon, but there's literally no excuse for not doing in in battles at this point unless nintendo's most powerful console to date somehow can't do what a gamecube did in 2003. The Wii U is reusing very similar hardware to the Wii and therefore the GameCube.
