Why do they keep forcing in a "end of the world" plot in all the games since Ruby/Sapphire? Does GF think we won't be invested in the game unless we have high stakes or something? As if wanting to stop Team Rocket from chopping off Slowpoke tails or forcing Magikarp to evolve is not enough?

I liked being a Good Samaritan and defeating the Yakuza in their underground casino or helping put Marowak's ghost to rest. I just wanna go from town to town and solve their localized Poke-problems.
