You can move forwards and backwards, left and right, up and down, or X, Y, Z axes. Well that's the same as LttP which is obviously considered a 2D game. The whole 2.5D terminology is pretty flawed because there are 2D games where you move in 3 dimensions yet they'd always be considered 2D because of the graphics.
It's a pretty stupid terms because you have Link's Awakening which is the same whether you play the original or the Switch remake, totally the same gameplay, but the latter is 2.5D which tells you nothing about the game other than the graphical method. Same here with Pokemon.
