You only get new ones spawning when old ones despawn. You should run in and out of Vermilion whenever you see 5 non shiny pokes to get 5 more sooner.

I got a shiny Vulpix from that patch of grass but I wasn't wearing the charm or anything. Wasn't on a chain either. It felt like some big practical joke because I got the game as a gift and I didn't want to buy Pokemon Jail to store it in.

they despawn and respawn every 20 seconds unless you’re actually suggesting the ram meme is real
running that far to get to the pokemon center to refresh the spawns isn’t worth it with lures going

Just saying if you can respawn them in 5 seconds by running back and forth, you get 4x the Pokemon and shiny chances in a given time frame than waiting 20 seconds for them to despawn on their own.

The most shines I've got in a single game is Let's Go Eevee. No charm, no lure, just catching hundreds of Chanseys to level up a bunch of pokes. I have a couple shiny Chanseys, a shiny Snorlax and a shiny Rhyhorn.

if you have constant lures going maybe, if you have the money to burn
but without a lure they don’t pop instantly there’ll only be 1-2 there waiting and you’d have to wait for more to spawn
