I never really cared about hunting shinies, but I did it quite a bit in these games. I also don't know if the chance of shinies appearing in this game was higher, but when I saw a red Ryhorn spawn naturally it was really exciting as someone who had only gotten 1 shiny before then.

The raw shiny rate is the same as it’s been for generations now 1/4096 without lures shiny charm or catch combo, but since you’re able to see all the mons in overworld without getting into a battle youre more likely to see one in lgpe due to sheer volume of “encounters”

Yeah, I don't know how they fucked that up. You couldn't see shinies in the overworld in Sword and Shield either.

I got it as a gift and enjoyed it for what it was. The riding and following Pokemon was what I enjoyed messing with the most. I was constantly swapping out team members to see following animations and what Pokemon were rideable, and a benefit of that was that I was always underdeveloped.

It was really light on content though, and if I had paid for it I know I would have been annoyed at how little content there was.

yes and yes. i loved being able to use shitmons like parasect by feeding them candy to the point where they were usable past y'know, using cut. i liked the dumbed down mechanics because i only play gen 1-5 anyhow and do not care about IVs/EVs too much. i liked archer. i like how they canonized blue finally beyond the manga. it was a fun game.

Not when RS, SwSh, and BDSP exist. LGPE have a lot of problems but there are way worse games than them.

Cant really speak on BDSP cuz it's not out yet. RS was wayyyyy better, not even worth comparing. SwSh was also better and I've enjoyed them much more.

I liked the QOL features, the wild rosters properly scaled up to the player’s progress, and proper gym leaders and Elite Four with developed teams.

Boxing the starter really improves the game. Never thought I would actually enjoy LGPE. Also caught a shiny rattata (unfortunately on emulator).
