Bulbapedia's main thing is that you can find pretty much ANYTHING about Pokemon on it, regardless of which corner of the franchise it came from. Pokemon Database is more focused on one specific area. The two aren't even similar enough to bother comparing them.

I use Bulbapedia for game content and Serebii for things relating specifically to the Pokemon, especially if I need info on a specific generation. Veekun had the best search function but they have been shit since gen 7.

I love DB's layout the best. It's my go-to as far as Pokedex entries go. Bulba obviously is packed w/ more info, but the former is more convenient to use. And then thefe's Serebii which is outdated and hard on the eyes.

what I really want is a website that lets me pick which generation it will present info for by default

Like if I want to see oddish's learnset or something, I want to be able to set the entire website to gen 3 and then when I search oddish it just gives me its gen 3 information. As it is now you search for any pokemon it'll always give you the latest gen's information and you have to manually select the gen you want on each page.
