I haven't gone near Pokémon in years (since B/W) and now am hyped for the remakes on friday, so would it be worth buying sword or shield to play for a few days before the release? Or would it be wasted money

Also looks like on the switch store that Diamond is massively outselling Pearl so even though Diamond has the better exclusives am i going to have alot more bargaining with online trades if I have the Pearl Exclusives?
