You could do it, but you'd have to remake the entire game basically, and no one has the time or care to do it. Just try it, you'll probably end up liking more than a few of the fakemons

They absolutely are trying, this game has smogon tier comp autism. If they didn't want to be taken seriously, their fakemons would've been ridiculously busted or completely useless, balance could've been part of the joke. But it's not. Most designs are not even funny in the slightest, they're just lazy. Some are not even supposed to be funny, for example Caracold is not a joke - it's just a basic bitch fakemon, at least as far as I'm aware. And serious stats imply serious gameplay, which causes complete dissonance.
Everything about Clover's design is very sloppy.
