>>48764721>Why is that?Most of the reason BW do it for me is the story and characters. BW2 was already a bit of a downgrade for me because it was a lot more standard fare for the series.
BW2 were at least better than something like platinum or ultra sun just because they functioned as a sequel, it was a chance to see the endpoints of some of the character arcs from BW1.
I don't think there are any characters or plot threads left in unova to dedicate a sequel to, or at least not enough to make the runtime of an RPG.
I'd rather they make a new gen with a story and cast as good as or better than gen 5. I think Gen 7 actually delivered pretty well on that even if it should've had a real sequel instead of the Ultra versions.
And before any of that I want them to overhaul the mechanics entirely because frankly Pokemon is such a fucked up system in countless ways. I feel like more people should see it as a red flag that every gen before 6 has a grind issue and every gen after gen 5 has a "enemy trainers are lobotomized" problem.
